OK I figured I would share my current project with you guys, so here goes...
Model: CBR 1000 RR
I want to start doing track days so I started prepping my bike. I think Ive gone a little off the deep end, but I got some outrageously good deals recently. I couldn't bring myself to track it with the candy red fairings so I sold them while they were still valuable and pretty. So I sold the factory plastics and used the money for the build.
Pics pre build
Couple weeks after picking it up from Action Honda
-Akrapovic slip on / Yoshi heat shield
-BMC race filter
-Vortex -1 front sprocket
-Hotbodies rear hugger
-Zero Gravity double bubble
-Honda Racing solo seat cover
-Honda Racing carbon fiber tank trim
-Intake flapper delete
-Custom under tail / Tag bracket
-Stock tail light modded
-Pair system delete
-Fan switch mod
so I picked up a Hotbodies HRC / Ten Kate Fairing kit w/ wind screen from a Honda dealer on eBay for $179 shipped .....
I was pretty satisfied with the fit and finish of the upper, lower, and front fender, but the tail section was a joke! Mounting points were completely off and there where large gaps were the tail section meets the subframe.
So I contacted Hotbodies customer support about the issue with the tail section. I was really surprised when they sent me a upgraded WSBK tail section at no cost! They said they are custom making it and I should be receiving it shortly....
Parts on order:
-Vortex rearsets (black)
-FP shorty levers (black)
-Michelen Pilot Pures
-Hotbodies HRC tank shelter
-Motoholders HRC subframe
-Gafler SS brake lines
Onto the progress:
I had to fab up a bracket for the tip sensor and relays (originally attached to the headlight assembly)
Removing the stock subframe
I had some company, my beautiful wife and daughter watching intently
Stock subframe removed
Stock Subframe batt box removed
Here's the wiring mess I have to consolidate and clean up after the new Motoholders subframe is installed
Airbox upper removed
Airbox lower removed
Removed Pair valve
Capped off the vents
Test fitted the DZUS fasteners, Picked them up from http://www.kurveygirl.com/shop/
More to come, I'll keep it updated!
I do however need idea's for a paint scheme ......
